A quick rundown connecting the dots across these key biblical terms.

God created the world and everything was perfect what He created, but then sin entered the world through Adam's disobedience. As a consequence of sin, death prevailed for all mankind - But God from eternity had the plan of redemption in place for man and also the pronouncement of judgement on Satan (who was behind the fall of man) that he will destroy the works of the devil forever. (Gen.3:15)

Down the lane - God chose Abraham and makes a covenant and promise with him and through Abraham, God's chosen nation - the nation of Isreal is born. God called them out with His great love and gave them the law through Moses. Law was to show God's expected standards for man to keep and obey it fully and to ever please God - however man is incapacitated in any form to keep and obey the law because of the innate sinful nature - and wages of sin is death (as the scripture says in Romans 7) - so death prevailed for all mankind, and law just underscored the explained sin. .

But, honoring His promise made to Abraham, God sent His only begotten son to the world and condemned sin through His flesh by His sinless life and offering Himself as a perfect sacrifice and penalty for sin. Death could not keep Jesus in the grave - since He is sinless and through His resurrection, He conquered sin and death forever for all mankind.

Now, anyone who believes in Him by faith shall receive the free gift of Salvation, which is opposite to what sin and law brought. They receive grace and the Holy Spirit to lead a godly life and hence please God and fully obey His commandments.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith . And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Eph. 2:8-9

It is the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2) that is at work in such a person who puts their faith in the Lord Jesus and His finished work on the cross for their salvation

The Spirit of Christ, who is poured out into our hearts, writes in our heart the law of God and gives us the capacity to please God in every way.

It is the responsibility of the believer now to walk according to the Spirit so that we do not carry out the desires of the flesh that leads to sin in any way.

Flesh and sin still wage war in our members, but we are to constantly choose the ways of the Spirit and God will enable us to mortify the works of sin in us in order that we may please Him completely.

This act of choosing God and walking according to the Spirit is a lifelong process and we cannot take a break from it. But there are so much pleasure and joy, more than anything else life can offer, in leading a life that pleases God and being fully aligned to doing His will all the time.

Abiding in God's word and hearing God's word, spending much time in prayer and also fellowship and encouragement from fellow believers is the only way we nurture and grow in this new life in the Holy Spirit.

God is faithful to save us till the end.
